Welcomes The Election, Putin & Medvedev So The Farmer

Stavropol - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin showed cohesion in the general election (election) future by planting maize together in the City of Stavropol, Russia.

Medvedev and Putin seem to be using different tractors to help farmers grow crops. The Russian leader also reportedly collected six tons of corn, and the corn was put into the truck.

"This is a good start," Medvedev said when meeting with farmers and activists from United Russia, as quoted by RIA Novosti on Thursday (27/10/2011).

"Super! I really like this!" Putin said.


Corn is a plant favored by former Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev. Khrushchev ordered the people to plant corn along the Soviet Union's territory.

In addition to farming together, Putin and Medvedev also showed the compactness in the badminton game.

By wearing a blue sweat suit and carrying badminton rackets, Medvedev also campaigned for the badminton sport through a video. He said, badminton famous for this sport can be played on the streets, homes, schools or campuses.

Putin's Russia following the presidential elections in 2012. He also will switch places with Medvedev. Running for President Putin and Medvedev as Prime Minister. Support for Putin also reportedly increased in Russia.
